An Elect Lady

Rose B. Hodson

October 6, 1912-October 13, 2010

There aren't adequate words to tell the life and love of a woman like Rose. Every time she spoke with you, it felt like you were the only one in the room. Her love for people and life was contagious.

Below is a poem that she wrote before she died. As you can see from its sentiments, even in her last moments her thoughts were on her posterity, consoling them and sharing her testimony. She's truly an elect lady.

Au Revoir

I'm on my way, today's the day
I leave this earthly sphere
My families great and I hesitate
To leave each one so dear

I have truly been blest with the very best
Of everything since my birth
The thought troubled my mind, I could have been more kind
TO my loved ones here on earth

But on the whole, my heart and soul
Have focus on the Lord
The gospel's true, it's up to you and me
To obey His every word

He is always there as I kneel in prayer
I know that he hears and loves me
May I never cease to feel the peace
of His presence there above me

It matters not the treasures I got
And put upon the shelf
I must truly love the Lord above,
And my neighbor as myself

I'll meet my loved ones later on
in the place where they have gone
And a family we will be
Where joys never cease, we'll live in love and peace
And our Saviour we shall see
